The congregation of Faith Lutheran Church is inviting the
community to a dramatization entitled "The Living Last Supper", where
the audience will face those questions as the church presents a
re-enactment of this event as part of its Easter celebration.
The
dramatization, which begins at 7:00pm on March 31, and again on April 1,
is presented by many of the church's music folks, and several volunteers
who passionately speak the thoughts of the original disciples "This is
not your typical Maundy Thursday service," Jeff Tomlinson, Director of
Faith's presentation said. "Rather, it is a moving and vivid
interpretation of DaVinci's famous painting The Last Supper, and the
internal wrestling of the 12 disciples." The dramatization is
accompanied by stirring, but beautiful music, and administration of Holy
Eucharist for those desiring to participate.
Each disciple in the
painting will come to life and share their internal struggles at this
critical time. From out of the darkness, each will speak his mind as to
why and questions who would be the one that will betray their leader.
The audience is privy to their thoughts as they search for the betrayer
among their brethren, or from within themselves. Each one asks the heart
wrenching question, "Is it I? Is it I?

An annual worldwide web ministry focus day for churches to explore the potential
that digital media give them for outreach.
Churches are encouraged to
use Internet Evangelism Day resources to create a presentation
for their members on or near that Sunday (or at any other time they
choose). The IE Day site offers free downloads: PowerPoint,
video clips, handouts, drama scripts, music and posters. These
enable any church (or homegroup, college, or conference) to build a
customized program, lasting from five minutes to fifty.
2010’s focus day will be the sixth to be used by churches around the
world since the initiative’s launch in 2005. Over this period,
digital media have developed dramatically, with the advent of YouTube,
Facebook and Twitter, and the growing use of mobile phones to access
online services. The outreach opportunities have multiplied too.
IE Day’s website is also a one-stop resource covering many
subjects, including how to build a church website that is ‘outsider
friendly’, using Twitter in evangelism, and blogging. Perhaps
surprisingly, you do not need to be technical to share your faith
online. And you can volunteer to be an email mentor to inquirers
with several large online outreach ministries.
Our ready-made two-page handout is available in
Word format and in
PDF.

Gathering 6:42
Wednesdays, beginning
June 30
6:42pm
Gathering 6:42 in the Fellowship Hall at 6:42pm.
For those who want more…more music, refreshments, message, and prayer
plus Children’s Time for K-5th grade. Nursery provided. "All
ate and were filled." - Mark 6:42
What is Gathering 642?
It is a weekly Wednesday evening time for fellowship, prayer,
reflection, music and more. The goal is not to produce another
“worship service” per se, but to provide an interactive and prayerful
gathering that is casual, experiential, and creative. This is not
meant to be a replacement for Sunday worship; instead, it is more of a
supplement. This is why we added the tag line to many of our
promotional flyers that states: “For those who want more.” Of
course, if for some reason you happen to be out of town on a Sunday and
you feel the need to touch base with God and your church family,
Gathering 642 would provide that opportunity. There will even be
an opportunity to give your tithe or even an offering above your tithe
at these gatherings. We will not be including an offering, but an
offering plate will be made available for those who wish to make one.
This way, you do not need to feel obligated to give more than you
usually do unless the Spirit moves you to do so.

4th Sunday each month
6:30pm
Worship in the Taizé Style is
offered in the Chancel of our Sanctuary. The service begins at 6:30pm and lasts approximately one hour. Services
are held once a
month, on the fourth Sunday.
This style of worship focuses predominantly on prayer, meditation,
silence, and singing.
It provides a different kind of opportunity for nurturing your
spiritual growth in addition to other worship services at Ladue Chapel.
Guests are especially welcome.
Enjoy spending quiet time with members of our congregation in prayer
and praise of God. "Come as you are," whether you are dressed for
relaxation or are getting ready for a formal evening. But come with your
heart ready to give thanks and praise to God from whom all blessings
flow. Childcare is provided.
